RoboChamps

RoboChamps was a competition designed to help promote Microsoft Visual Studio / Robotics Developer Studio. Though the competition arena was entirely virtual, the robots were simulations of actual hardware, using the same programming interfaces. Essentially, you could take your code, plug it into a real robot, and it would function as programmed. This real-world functionality was a guiding principal for the design of RoboChamps, turning away from the sci-fi fun and fiction of robots, and instead elevating the coolness of the reality of robots, exciting participants with their real-world possibilities – exactly the kinds of possibilities that young developers would care about the most.
